Water Pearl Instructions
1. Empty the contents of the bag (colored balls) into 1 quart bag or container of water. For best results add 1 teaspoon of liquid fertilizer (e.g. miracle grow) and mix before adding water pearls.
2. Let contents soak in water for approximately 6-8 hrs. After 6-8 hrs. it will be clearly evident that the colored balls will have increased in size tremendously, as they will have absorbed water.
3. Using a strainer, remove the colored balls from the water and place them in a container of choice (vase, flower pot).
4. Remove all the soil from the plants root’s and place it in the container with the roots fully covered by the balls (plant to the same depth as you would have if they were in soil. Careful not to plant to deep in pearls.
5. Should the plant have no soil at all (e.g. “lucky bamboo”) place it right in the container with its roots fully covered by the balls. The plant will develop normally. These balls also regulate the amount of water absorbed by the plant, thus preventing over-watering which would case the plant to wilt prematurely.
6. If the plant is left in the container for an extended period of time, after approximately 1.5 months (depending on prevailing temperatures) the balls would have shrunk in size. At such time, remove the balls and place them in a container with water for approximately 3-4 hrs., or until they reach maximum size again. Then repeat steps 3-5.
FRESH FLOWERS: Omit the fertilizer, and leave a small amount of water in the bottom of vase so that the stems will be fully immersed.
Amazing Water Pearls Maintenance
Amazing Water Pearls can last up to 4 years if they are kept away from direct sunlight (UV rays) and are handled with care. The material is biodegradable and will eventually break down. In the meantime they will shrink and rehydrate constantly.
Amazing Water Pearls can simply be rinsed with water to wash off any dirt or dust off of them. If algae have developed (if the balls look cloudy) wash them with diluted liquid fertilizer to kill any living bacteria.
Never freeze the balls. To store them for future use, place them in a zip-lock bag and store them in a dry place and at room temperature.
